Setup overview

Setup contains the tenant master data and rules used by schedules, time, expenses, WBS, budgets, and integrations.

Master tabs

Visible tabs can include Employees, Employee Reporting, Jobs, Phases, Cost Codes, Business Partners, Divisions, Branches, Departments, job classifications, employee classifications, unions, agencies, rate codes, expense types, transaction types, and change-order types.

Time setup

Configure work periods, overtime rules, shift rules, and pay groups before processing time. Changes should be date-effective and tested with representative entries before payroll use.

WBS setup

Configure WBS codes, item groups, and items before loading detailed project cost facts. Use one agreed coding standard across the application and integration.

Setup discipline

  • Use stable, meaningful codes and clear names.
  • Avoid deleting a record already referenced by transactions; deactivate it when supported.
  • Check integration mappings before changing a code.
  • Keep employee, project, and accounting ownership clear.
  • Review access after adding a new job or organizational unit.

Setup tabs are filtered by permissions, so two administrators with different roles may see different choices.
