Work Breakdown Structure
The WBS area organizes cost information by a shared project hierarchy. Depending on the tenant configuration, dimensions can include job, phase, WBS code, cost code, item, and vendor.
Available views
- WBS Budgets summarizes project budget measures across the hierarchy.
- WBS Initial Budget shows the original authorized baseline.
- WBS Change Order Budget keeps scope changes separate from the baseline.
- WBS Actual Cost shows costs already incurred.
- WBS Committed Cost shows contractual or purchasing commitments.
- WBS Cost to Complete captures forecast effort still required.
- WBS Budget Reports provides hierarchy-based reporting and export.
Recommended workflow
Configure WBS codes, item groups, and items in Setup > WBS, then verify job, phase, and cost-code master data. Load or enter financial facts using consistent dimensions. When comparing values, keep the same job and WBS filters across all views.
SpaceRivers does not treat a displayed budget balance as one mutable transaction. It combines separate initial, change-order, committed, actual, and forecast facts for reporting. Correct the source fact that is wrong.
