Budget overview
Budget Management maintains the financial facts used for project-control reporting.
| Record | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Initial budget | Original approved budget baseline |
| Change-order budget | Authorized or pending scope/budget change |
| Committed cost | Purchase, subcontract, or other committed exposure |
| Actual cost | Cost already incurred or posted from the source system |
| Cost to complete | Forecast of the remaining cost |
Reports combine these facts to support revised-budget, exposure, forecast, and variance analysis. Exact formulas and inclusion rules follow your organization's approved accounting policy.
Controls
- Use stable job, phase, cost-code, item, vendor, and transaction identifiers.
- Do not mix currencies or reporting periods without an approved conversion policy.
- Reconcile imported totals to the source batch before approving analysis.
- Use Integration Logs for rejected or duplicate inbound records.
- Export with the active filters visible and retain the report timestamp.
