Business partners

Business Partners stores the organizations referenced by project and financial workflows. Depending on configuration, a partner can serve a customer, vendor, agency, subcontractor, or other counterparty role.

Use a stable code, legal/display name, contact information, address, status, and applicable classification. Check for an existing record before creating a new one; duplicate partners fragment commitment, actual-cost, and reporting history.

When partners originate in an accounting system, treat the source identifier as the integration key and coordinate changes with the integration administrator.
